1960s British long teak sideboard by good unknown maker
In fair to good vintage condition we recently bought this nicely made sideboard from the family of the original owner . We can clean and oil it so that it’s looking great again for an additional £125 .
Its longer than most at 236cms long , 82.5cms in height and 46cms in depth . It won’t have been cheap when new and looks similar in quality to pieces by A Younger and Dalescraft and other premium makers . We have bought and sold many hundreds of sideboards over the last few years and seen many more , but have not seen this one before so it must have been by a smaller maker . Most cheap sideboards were around 6ft in length and standard G Plan and McIntosh ones were around 7ft ( 213 cms ) so longer ones like this are quite rare and usually made for large houses with wealthy owners in mind . The faceted legs are an unusual feature , and the internal finish is another sign of quality .
