1960s Danish teak dressing chest/desk manner of Arne Vodder
These lovely quality chests and a related bureau are often wrongly described as being an Arne Vodder design because the drawers are so similar to a number of pieces he designed for Sibast . All his designs for Sibast are known and are usually labelled . The finish and construction are as good as you’ll find on Sibast pieces and other top Danish makers . Like a lot of good pieces the back is also teak veneered and the drawers have lovely dovetails .
It’s designed as a dressing table chest , but would work as a small desk so is ideal for those looking to have a small work area in their house .
It came to us in good vintage condition with a couple of small marks to the top . A light clean and oil and it’s now looking as good as it would when new . It will have been very expensive when new . Like a lot of Danish furniture the legs unscrew .
It’s 85.5cms wide 74.5cms high and 46cms deep .
