1960s Danish teak extending dining table by VV Mobler Spottrup
It starts as a circular 4 seater of 120cms in diameter , then with 1 leaf of 50cms it takes 6 , and finally with 2nd leaf it extends to 220cms and takes 8 comfortably . Like most Danish 1960s tables the legs can easily be removed for easy removal or storage .
There isn’t much known about VV Mobler of Spottrup but it’s lovely quality and will have been expensive when new . Both leaves have the same shaped edge which matches the main table . We have another recently bought Danish table , also with 2 leaves , but only one has the fully shaped edge , so not all tables have this nice detailing .
In some of the photos we’ve photographed it with a set of 6 Norgaard Moller style dining chairs which suit it perfectly . When we sourced the table it was in good vintage condition , but did have a few slight marks and as always the leaves were a darker colour than the rest of the table . It’s now been fully cleaned and oiled , and there are no obvious marks or scratches and the colour now matches really well throughout . If you look at any piece of vintage furniture extremely closely you will always see very slight signs of wear , but there is certainly nothing that can be shown in a photograph .
