1960s vintage Swedish teak sewing box by an unknown quality maker . This stylish piece would also make an ideal bedside table with space for a lamp or radio on top , then books , odds and ends of useful bits inside !
Sourced in Sweden the base is similar to that of Swedish hall tables that we’ve had in the past . Also typical of Swedish pieces is the use of birch for the interior , although that’s also found on some Danish pieces .
We love the stylish simple lines of the top with its lovely recessed handle . Then open it up and you’ve got space for sewing things or whatever you want to keep tidied away .
We’ve given it a light clean and polish as it had a few minor marks when we got it . It now looks beautiful .
It’s not a design or model we’ve seen before , so we’re highly unlikely to be able to find another to make a pair unfortunately .
