A Younger 1960’s teak cocktail cabinet designed by John Herbert
Cocktail cabinets were a luxury extra that few people would have bought back in the 1960’s so they don’t turn up very often today . Only a few companies made them , and mostly they were the more expensive makers like A Younger . We have their catalogues from 1964, 66 , 67 and 68 , but unfortunately none with price lists , but Younger pieces were certainly more expensive than those by G Plan and McIntosh .
This lovely well made piece is typical of the quality pieces made by Younger . It’s been given a clean , and it’s come up beautifully with no obvious marks or scratches , just the minor signs of wear that you have to expect from any vintage piece if you look extremely closely . As you’ll see it’s missing it’s original glass shelves , but we will have some cut to fit before despatching .
It has the same legs and handles as the Da Silva sideboards , but it will also go well with the Fonseca range .
It’s 130cms high , 83.5cms wide and 45.5cms deep
