Amazing 1960s teak bar cabinet by George Serlin + Sons Sureline
If you do a Google image search for George Serlin + Sons Sureline all that comes up are various bar and cocktail cabinets in walnut or teak . They mainly date to the 1950s and are in late Art Deco style , but there is one teak one . This company which we’d never come across before must have produced other things like standard 1950s bedroom and dining furniture , whilst having this small niche market in making bar cabinets , some like this with clever swivel mechanisms .
We couldn’t find another with this fake book lined front . It’s in lovely vintage condition having been bought direct from the estate of the original local owner . If you look very closely you will see some light scratches to the top in a strong light , but you do have to look very closely . It comes complete with its 12 original cocktail sticks , and possibly original corkscrew and bottle opener . There is one noticeable ring mark to the interior , but otherwise in fabulous condition for its age .
