Clean McIntosh rosewood Dunfermline sideboard c 1970 in good vintage condition .
One careful owner from new , with no obvious marks . In a strong light you may see some fine scratches and a couple of darker patches where a bowl has stood for a while , so leaving a very slight uneven fading . But really as good as you’ll get after over 40 years of use . It’s a lovely colour , and has particularly nice figuring to the rosewood veneers . The legs are mahogany rather than rosewood on this model of McIntosh rosewood sideboards .
The Dunfermline was mainly made in teak as were the bulk of McIntosh sideboards , but is the only model that they also produced in rosewood . We have a number of McIntosh catalogues , but none showing their rosewood pieces , so we don’t know how much more expensive they were than the teak ones at the time , but there will have been a noticeable difference in cost .
We bought this with matching table and chairs directly from the family of the original owner .
