Guy Rogers Manhattan sofa bed for re-upholstery
Just in a 1960s teak sofa bed in vintage condition . We’d normally clean and oil the teak frame which is not a major task . Then the choice is whether to use Pirelli rubber webbing as originally used or choose a cheaper rubberised webbing that we’ve recently sourced. We’d have new foam cushions made to current UK Fire Regulations and then let the buyer choose the final fabric.
If you look at our www.pureimaginations.co.uk website you’ll see some of the fabrics we recommend from Camira, Abraham Moon, Romo and Warwick . For something a bit special we’re now trying 2 Eleanor Pritchard fabrics which we’ve just bought. All have websites and we can arrange samples and advise on colours etc . Or you can send us your own fabric, you will need 6 meters upholstery of fabric.
Final cost will depend on webbing, type of foam and of course fabric choice. Most of the fabrics we recommend cost around £40-£60 a meter but some will cost more. The most expensive fabric we’ve used for a customer was just over £200 a metre !
