Ib Kofod Larsen rosewood sideboard for Seffle of Sweden 1970’s.
Ib Kofod Larsen appears to have designed a number of different variations which were produced by Seffle of Sweden in the 1970’s. The sizes and fittings seem to vary as do the feet. The important factor with these is the sleek clean design and the grain of the rosewood veneers that were used. This one has a lovely figure to the rosewood and is smaller than many at only .
This one is in nice clean vintage condition with no obvious marks or damage .
As with so much that was produced in the 1970’s the quality of construction is rarely as good as equivalent pieces from the 1960’s , and particularly the early 1960’s. The oil crisis and other economic problems of the early 1970’s increasingly lead to makers putting cost before quality. So don’t expect beautifully finished interiors it’s all about the clean lines and the grain of the veneers.
