Kurt Olsen style, late 1950’s Danish Armchair. Cute upholstered Danish Chair with suspended teak arms.
We keep finding lovely Danish chairs that were made in small numbers by as yet unknown designers. They offer great value without sacrificing the quality or the look and like this one they’re actually rarer than the known designs ! In some cases we’ve actually found who the designer is after they’ve been sold as research in Denmark is gradually revealing more information about the many great designs produced there in the 1950’s and 60’s .
This design will date to the mid to late 1950’s and could have been produced any time up to the mid 60’s. The teak to the arms and removable legs is a nice heavy quality and colour which suggests a late 1950’s date.
To have this chair re upholstered in house it would cost £150 and would involve stripping, fire barrier cloth liner then covering with a fabric of your choice. Approx 2 meters of fabric. The original fabric is worn although the pink looks great it does need re upholstering.
