Late 1960s McIntosh teak “roundette” circular table and 4 chairs cleaned and oiled
McIntosh called this table and chairs the Forum and it seems to have been introduced in about 1965. This lovely design and the slightly later Tintagel by their competitors White and Newton are both loosely based on the popular Frem Rojle Roundette introduced circa 1965 . All have chairs that tuck neatly into the table , but the Danish version is definitely sleeker . The McIntosh version would have cost you about 20% less than the Frem Rojle extending table with 4 legged chairs , but today this one will only cost you about 40% of the price !
The table is 122cms in diameter and the leaf adds 46cms .
The table has been fully cleaned and oiled , so the colour of the leaf is again a good match to the main table . The chairs have been given a light clean and the original black vinyl upholstery is in lovely vintage condition with no obvious damage . You may see these sets cheaper in vintage condition , but bear in mind we’ve spent our time-served restorer has spent over 2 days in labour cleaning the set .
This table and chairs was bought from the original owners who lived in Kirkcaldy and bought it along with a sideboard directly from the factory so it had never been out of Scotland and indeed it’s home town since being made !
