Late 50s Danish armchair for re-upholstery.
One of the many lovely chairs we find in Denmark by as yet unknown designers and makers . This is a particularly nice shape and the legs are a striking feature .
Its comfortable and not too large at 81cms at widest and 81cms at deepest . Back height is 93cms .
Upholstered in its original slightly worn velvet which we can not guarantee meets UK Fire Regulations so if sold to a UK buyer it will need to be re-upholstered . Our upholsterer will charge around £300 which will include using a fire-retardant barrier fabric. So for example the chair finished, upholstered in Abraham moon pure new wool at £53 per meter, using 5 meters in a colour of your choice would cost £1040.
There is still a lot of research going on to identify designs such as these which were made in small numbers by small good quality makers in the late 1950s and early 60s .
Dimensions: 88cm x 88cm, height 93cm
