Lovely stylish Mid-Century ebonised chair for re-upholstery
Possibly Swedish or Finnish we think , but as we’ve been unable to find another we could be totally wrong ! It’s lovely quality and we got it with various Scandinavian and British pieces from a family who had a shop selling new design in the 1960s . The base wood looks to be mahogany which has then been ebonised . The ebonising is slightly wearing on some edges which gives it a nice patina .
Dating to the late 1950s or early 1960s , the original upholstery needs to be replaced , which is not a major task . Our upholsterer will quote for new foam and materials , and can advise on choice of fabric etc .
