Mid 60’s Danish worn leather matador chair.
This is a top quality Danish armchair from the mid 60’s . The leather is starting to go , but if you like the slightly distressed look ( no actual tears in the leather ) this could be for you , but if not we think its well worth re-upholstering ( it needs 5 metres of fabric , and probably 2 hides of leather at around £150 per hide from Crest leather ) . Our upholsterer will charge £250 to re-upholster it .
We’ve now found 2 references to this “matador ” chair designed by Aage Christiansen and made by Erhardsen + Andersen . If you go to www.danishmodern.co.uk , you will find a 1966 advert showing this chair and matching sofa .
