Pair Howard Keith style late 1950s wing chairs by the small British maker Minty . Minty were best known for a range of bookcases , as well as some standard traditional style armchairs .
This pair are very reminiscent of chairs designed by the successful designer /maker Howard Keith who’s pieces from the 50s and 60s are selling well today . They’re extremely stylish and well made , and well worth the costs of re-upholstery to bring them in to the 21st century .
You can buy them at £450 ” as is ” for your upholsterer to do the work , or for £950 re-upholstered by our upholsterer . You will need then to add the cost of fabric , which you can either choose from one of our suppliers ( Abraham Moon , Camira , Romo or Warwick ) or send your own . Each chair will need 4 metres of standard width plain fabric . If choosing a patterned fabric you will probably need more , and have to pay a little extra as it’s more time taking to use .
They’re much more stylish than the standard Parker Knoll wing chair that’s still in production today which sells new for around £1000 a chair .Chairs like these would have been made in relatively small numbers at the time , and many will have been lost over the years .
