Pair of Ib Kofod Larsen G Plan Danish teak bookcases
Ib Kofod Larsen designed most of the Danish Design range for G Plan in around 1962 to 1964 . Pieces were shown in the G Plan catalogues up until around 1966 , and usually were bought around this time . The range was stylish and more expensive than standard G Plan pieces and was not sold in big numbers . We’ve never seen a matching pair like this before .
The larger piece is 152.5cms ( 5ft ) long , 88cms high and 27cms deep . The smaller one is 102cms wide , and the other measurements same as the larger one . The shelves are adjustable in height , and some bear the G Plan Danish Ib Kofod Larsen gold stamp to the underside .They have a rosewood finish to the handles and the plinth bases which give them a nice stylish contrast .
They were in good vintage condition when we bought them , and so all we’ve done is a give them a light clean before oiling them . If you look at them very closely you will see minor signs of wear which you have to expect after over 50 years of use , but there are no ring marks , or obvious bad scratches to the tops or door .
