Pair of G Plan Fresco teak bedside drawers on new metal hairpin legs
In the 1960s and early 1970s most people bought “continental ” headboards with attached drawers or shelves rather than pairs of bedside cabinets . They’re not so popular today so we and others adapt the design by taking the drawers off the headboards and place them on new metal hairpin legs .
The G Plan headboards were unusual in that the attached drawers were much larger and more useful than those made by most of their competitors . As a result these bedsides are a really good size . They’re 51cms wide , 43cms deep and 56cms in height .
This pair were bought new in 1975 and came from an exceptionally clean house . The tops are in good original condition with no obvious marks or scratches apart from the one shown in one of the photos . We bought a full suite from the family of the original owner and all the pieces were in top vintage condition .
