Rarely seen 1960s vintage Dalescraft teak bureau by Malcolm D Walker . We think that Dalescraft deserves to be better known , and are always looking for their pieces . Malcolm D Walker ( usually known as David ) not only ran this small quality maker but was also their designer . His 1960s designs were heavily influenced by Danish pieces , and as this small firm had excellent craftsmen they were able to produce items with similar quality detailing .
We’ve not had this model before , and it will have been expensive when new and like all Dalescraft pieces it will not have been made in large numbers . Unfortunately at some point the lock has been forced doing a little damage to the front , so you will see a repair if looked at closely . We’ve emphasised this in one of our photos which are always taken in a very strong light , so it will not be anywhere near as noticeable under normal domestic lighting . We have priced it to take into account this repair . It’s been fully cleaned and re-polished . The teak as always with Dalescraft is a lovely colour , and the design has some lovely smart detailing as you’d expect with this maker .
NB We do have the key !
