Short G Plan Danish Design teak sideboard by Ib Kofod Larsen fully restored
There were 3 sizes in G Plan Danish range which was produced from around 1962 to 1966 as a premium range . It was designed by the well known Danish designer Ib Kofod Larsen who also designed for a number of Danish and Swedish companies in the 1960’s . This is is the smallest one and like the medium it comes up for sale less frequently than the largest one . It’s 168cms ( 5ft 6″ ) long , 77cms high and 48cms deep ( plus protruding handles ) .
We bought it directly from the family of the original owners in good vintage condition . There were a few light marks and as often it was a little faded when it came in . Our in-house time served restorer has cleaned it and re-finished the teak and it’s now looking wonderful . As with all vintage pieces you must still expect to see very minor signs of wear if you look extremely closely , but it’s in fully restored condition and has a nice rich colour as a result .
The square handles are rosewood veneered and give a nice contrast . The handles are all in good condition with no repairs .
It’s stamped with the gold Danish Design Ib Kofod Larsen signature which is usually found on his G Plan pieces . As so often with the sideboards it’s under a shelf !
