A small oak Danish armchair.
A really nice heavy quality Danish armchair probably dating to the early to mid 1950s due to its styling and construction , as well as the use of oak rather than teak .
We bought in Denmark as possibly designed by Kurt Ostervig , but can no evidence for this . Stylistically it also looks like pieces by Kurt Olsen . There are an amazing number of different designs and models produced in Denmark by small quality makers in the 1950s and 1960s , so its often almost impossible to create pairs . Once its re-upholstered you will have a piece that’s unique for a price that isn’t much more than a standard boring new Parker Knoll wing chair ( depending on cost of fabric used ).
Our upholsterer will charge £180-£200 for re-upholstery ( incl VAT ) which will include using a fire-retardant barrier fabric to crib 5 ( suitable for domestic and commercial use if used with suitable fabric ) and will need 3.5 metres of standard width fabric .
Dimensions: width 65cm, height 76cm.
